Typical HYD Training, Feels Really Different

Arrived safely at Rajeev Gandhi Int’l Airport, HYD by Jet Airways via Mumbai, well received by the host, twin bed sharable room, well cleaned, solar fitted bathroom, met Vietnamese Mr. Kein around 10PM on 28th October 2012 at Regional Telecom Training Center (RTTC), Gachiboli HYD named GODAVARI Hostel. I am well satisfied with the speed of wireless at the room. The training starts at 9:30 on Monday, 29th Oct while we were seven participants under APT fellowship and other eight participants from DOT India. The training is solely about IP version 6 protocol and its basics. The syllabus covers v4 networking starting from TCP/IP introduction, v4 addressing (subnetting, supernetting), v4 and v6 header basics, comparing of v4 and v6 header with v6 features, routing concepts (static, dynamic). Practical concepts of OSPF, EIGRP routing and dual stack operation.

This coverage is very basics for me as already being a v6 literate. Especially I didn’t get anything new about IPv6 as compared with my last workshop at Thailand, However it helps me sharpen the basics of networking including basic network
elements with its operation, reviewed also the OSPF routing. But the interesting thing is the environment. The training hall is completely internet/laptop free. We all participants focused over the teachers what he taught. Lab environment at the real time router cisco 2811 series. I always do practice in FreeBSD machine or dynamips, while this time me with participants got opportunity to configure over nine CISCO 2811 series routers which were separately assigned.

I just called this training as a typical one because we followed like normal university class. No internet/computer in the room. Teacher just teaches and students listen. It seems all focusing over what teacher is teaching and so to be quite effective. The lab room is a separate room fully equipped to carry out the practices.

The Hospitality by Hostel administration is amazing. It looks like I am living in the standard hotel. They provided varieties of Indian foods like IDLY, SAMABR, BIRYANI, Chicken MUNCHURIA, DOSA etc.. with lots of alternative items.
Participants at mall: Bangladesh, VietNam, Philippines, Thailand, Maldives, SriLanka and Nepal

I had been in this place on 2002 as a student tour visit, while I was BE student at IOE Pulchowk Campus. During that time, probably we had visited lots of beautiful places like birla temple, golgonda ford, charminar etc.. this time too I did small shopping at charminar and the visit of lumbini park is memorable for me. The local language is TELUGU where people within this Andra Pradesh (AP) state hardly speak hindi rather they feel better speak English with tourists. Peoples coming from other states of INDIA even have to speak English for communication. This is interesting, as we know some group of Nepalese are trying to make HINDI a Nepal National Language but even Indian states prefer English rather than giving preference to their national language.

Finally I would to thank Asia Pacific Telephony (APT) for granting me the Fellowship and the MoIC Nepal for fellowship endorsement also with NTA for Nomination.
